Known as Pura Pentaran Agung Lempayung or Pura Lempayung Luhur. Lempayung Luhur temple is one of the oldest temples in Bali and is also one of the island’s nine directional temples. It is believed to protect the native Balinese from evil spirits coming in from the east. The temple showcases a set of amazing staircases flanked by dragons on each side which one is really awsome. Lempuyang Temple (Gate to Heaven) It’s one of Bali’s most important and magnificent temples. As you explore the temple you can also take in the breathtaking views of the beautiful coastline. Become super famous due to instagram, so if you too want the picture, best is to arrive as early as possible. Tirta Gangga Water Garden was built by the last king of Karangasem Regency in 1948 and is now open to the public. It features a labyrinth of pools, ponds, and fountains surrounded by neatly cut lawns adorned with lush gardens, stone carvings, and ornate statues. This park is pretty massive, so give yourself some time to relax and stroll around. The entrance fee is Rp 40,000 per person. We enjoyed a lots spending time at the stepping stones, where we can click awesome pictures. Ponds of water surround temples, and stepping stones allow you to feel like you are walking across the surface of the water. Fish food is sold at the entrance and the fish would swarm around you as we sprinkled it into the water.
Taman Ujung Water Palace is one of the most beautiful places in bali. It’s a wonderful palace which is an example of the golden age of the Kingdom of Karangasem. It was built in 1919 by the King I Gusti Bagus Jela, and he visited during the summer. Inside the building has photos and some interesting history about the king as well as some artifacts. The history, the water pools, the design and the workmanship make this place an amazing experience. You have the ability to walk on stepping stones through one of the pools. The gardens are beautiful and the statues are cultural and historic. For those who like to visit historical site, ujung water palace is a place that you should consider to.
Virgin beach is located just north of Candi Dasa. The views from the headland were amazing, revealing the unique emerald green waters, particularly at the north end of the beach. The beach is located within a park, there are no hotels or accommodation, but plenty of warungs that line the back of the beach. The sand is a mix of black volcanic and white. Good view of beach, really natural. Clean white sands. Eat coconut and nasi goreng with the best view of sea. The water is Crystal clear as well and most times very safe to swim. You can play sands and play water.
Visiting the Tenganan Ancient Village is like stepping back in time. This west village is delightful, peaceful and beautifully maintained. The layout and architecture is interesting to see, walking through the village and visiting one of their houses was just great. You can buy some really good authentic merchandise and see them being made around the village. Great selection of arts and traditional crafts to choose from. The Bali Aga people have retained an ancient pre-Majapahit Balinesee culture and this is apparent in the many obvious differences from the rest of Bali, which you will find in Tenganan. The villagers maintain a strict adherence to ancestor worship, cosmology and other animist beliefs as well as rigid social organization.
